Glashütte Original is known for their top-notch mechanical observation watches, and their latest series is no exception. The limited edition Senator Observer 1911, made of white gold, was unveiled in 2012 to honor Julius Assmann and Roald Amundsen. A stainless steel version with a silver-grained dial was also revealed at Baselworld that year. Assmann's Glashütte company was renowned for creating high-quality observation watches, which were essential for navigation officers, pilots, and adventurers like Amundsen. In fact, he was so impressed by a Glashütte pocket watch that he purchased it in 1910 and brought it with him on his historic journey to the South Pole. The watches in this series
