The timepiece boasts a rose gold case adhering to the classic proportions derived from the golden ratio, measuring 34.5 mm in width and 39.5 mm in length with a thickness of 6.58 mm. It provides protection against humidity and dust, enhanced by a solid case back that features an engraving of the volcano along with its name. True to the understated elegance of the Rare Handcrafts Golden Ellipse series, the case design remains simple to keep the focus on the enchanting dial. The contours of Mount Etna are meticulously crafted using approximately 9.4 cm of fine gold wire weighing 0.05 grams, while the eruption scene is vibrantly brought to life through a combination of six different enamel colors. To enhance the visual impact of the flowing lava, gold leaf is artistically placed beneath translucent enamel using the paillonné technique. Furthermore, miniature painting in five additional hues depicts the fiery slopes and the ash cloud that billows into the night.
