In 2006, IWC released the Pilot's Watch Mark XVI, which had a bigger case (39mm) than its predecessor, the 3253. The dial and hands also had a new design, giving the watch a more refined appearance, rather than just being utilitarian. This particular model, known as IW3255-02, has a 'Spitfire' silver dial with stylish Arabic numerals.
