In 1985, IWC presented the Da Vinci Perpetual Calendar reference IW3750-33 with a shiny Stainless Steel case and a Black dial. This was a big deal in the watch world, receiving praise and changing the game with its innovative perpetual calendar mechanism. It became a hit in the Da Vinci collection and was also used in other IWC and JLC models. The watch came in different metals and dial options, with multilingual markings. The default choice was plexi glass, but sapphire crystal was available upon request. There were also versions with ceramic or gem-set cases, and a bracelet option. Its successor, the 3758, came out around 2005. The first versions used the caliber 790
