In 2015, Glashütte Original released a new version of their Senator Observer watch, inspired by the history of navigation at sea. The dial features luminous surfaces, making it easy to read in low light. The hour and minute hands, Arabic numerals, and hour indexes are coated with green Superluminova, a glow-in-the-dark pigment. The small seconds subdial and power reserve indicator also have luminous features. The black dial provides a sleek background for the vintage-inspired Arabic numerals, and the Panorama Date display is a standout feature. The watch comes in four references, each with a calfskin strap and different buckle or clasp options.
