Vacheron Constantin's Métiers d'Art Tribute to the Animal Kingdom Feathersnake 7630A/000G-H206 was launched in 2026 as part of the exclusive One of Not Many Crafts Programme, featuring six unique pieces. Designed in collaboration with French feather artist Julien Vermeulen, this 42 mm white-gold timepiece showcases a fantastical snake created from over 200 individual segments of seven exquisite lophophore feathers. The artist meticulously removed the central quills to lessen thickness, then adhered the feathers to silk paper, forming them into shape over a specially devised metal framework. Surrounding the central motif, intricate goose feathers create the foliage and background, while the arrangement stands just about 3 mm above the dial surface; the serpent's eye is crafted from 18K gold and enamel. To achieve this intricate design, Vermeulen utilized specialized tools, including a micro-scalpel fashioned from a needle and a specially altered sewing needle for the precise application of tiny adhesive amounts, dedicating approximately 250 hours to research and prototyping. The watch displays hours, minutes, day, and date through four peripheral apertures, allowing the center of the dial to remain focused on the stunning feather artwork. The 42 mm case, constructed from 18K white gold, is 12.9 mm thick and features a sapphire crystal case back, as well as a water resistance of 30 meters. The timepiece is powered by the Vacheron Constantin calibre 2460 G4, an automatic movement with a diameter of 31 mm and a thickness of 6.05 mm, boasting 237 components and 27 jewels, running at 28,800 vibrations per hour, or 4 Hz, and offering around 40 hours of power reserve. For this collection, the movement showcases a 22K gold oscillating weight hand-engraved with designs inspired by traditional artisan tools. The reference 7630A/000G-H206 is complemented by a green calfskin strap embossed with a botanical pattern and secured with an 18K white-gold buckle.
