Launched in 2026, the IWC Ingenieur Perpetual Calendar 41 IW3449-04 is remarkable for being the initial titanium model that fuses the Ingenieur style, inspired by Gérald Genta, with a perpetual calendar designed by Kurt Klaus at IWC. Its construction features a grade 5 titanium case coupled with an integrated bracelet, and it showcases a matte grey dial along with the in-house manufactured calibre 82600. The titanium case has dimensions of 41.6 mm in diameter and 13.2 mm in thickness, embodying classic Ingenieur traits such as a round bezel secured by five functional screws and a bracelet seamlessly attached via its middle links. The finishing technique includes a combination of sandblasted areas and subtly polished edges, while the sides display a satin finish. Noteworthy components include a screw-in crown, a convex sapphire crystal treated with an anti-reflective coating on both sides, and a transparent sapphire case back, with the watch rated for water resistance up to 10 bar.
The matte grey dial exhibits the distinctive Ingenieur 'Grid' motif, characterized by a network of small lines and squares. Calendar functions are represented with circular satin-brushed subdials, featuring azurage on their outer edges: the date is positioned at 3 o'clock, the month and moon phase at 6 o'clock, and the day of the week alongside a leap-year indicator at 9 o'clock. Applied hour markers and black hands are luminescent with Super-LumiNova. Inside, the IWC-made calibre 82600 is an automatic movement equipped with Pellaton winding, offering a perpetual calendar that displays the date, day, month, leap year, and moon phase, with a power reserve of 60 hours. Operating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and utilizing 46 jewels, the movement's winding system contains components made of zirconium oxide ceramic to withstand high stress. Additionally, the moon phase mechanism is remarkable for deviating by just one day after 577.5 years. The movement, visible through the sapphire case back, features impeccable finishing highlighted by Geneva stripes, circular graining, and blued screws.
