On September 17, 2015, Vacheron Constantin introduced a unique watch with 57 complications, making it the most intricate ever created. This exceptional mechanical marvel was crafted over eight years by three skilled watchmakers at the Atelier Cabinotiers workshops to celebrate the brand's 260th anniversary. The watch, made on special order, combines modern technology with traditional watchmaking techniques endorsed by the Hallmark of Geneva.The tremendous effort and expertise put into developing this extraordinary timepiece served as a valuable source of inspiration and advancement for the watchmakers involved. Among the creations resulting from this project is the Maître Cabinotier retrograde armillary tourbillon, a contemporary interpretation of the Ref. 57260's double retrograde indications and armillary tourbillon complications. This model features retrograde hour and minute displays, a bi-axial rotating tourbillon with a spherical balance-spring, and a movement coated in a special NAC metal alloy, visible through side windows of its impressive case.
