The IWC Pilot's Watch Doppelchronograph ref. 3713, produced from 1996 to 2005, was the second of its kind to feature a split-second chronograph. It was made in stainless steel, yellow gold, or platinum, with different dial options and day-discs in various languages. The stainless steel version could be worn on a strap or bracelet, and only five platinum models were made with a bracelet. In 2003, the 3713 exclusively came with Spitfire-inspired dials. One notable model is the IW3713-03, which boasts a stainless steel case and a sleek black dial.
